On our way back from visiting family we are staying at The Olivier House Hotel in New Orleans. The place is nearly 200 years old so immediately I started to check out some of the joinery of the furniture. Here are some of the cool things I found!

Nice regular half lap dovetails. You can see that the craftsman sawed a little past his baseline. What little glue I could find on this drawer was very dark. Maybe hide glue?
This is the back of the same drawer. I think the creator accidentally cut out his dovetails backwards, and then just made the drawer shorter to accommodate??? Not sure.
