Wow I made a ton of progress this weekend!

Three of the four pairs of dovetails fit right off the saw:

You can see in the last image how the tails in one pair didn't fit right, but I got it to fit by resawing and filing a bit.

After getting the dovetails taken care of, the next step was to add the floor to the case. I decided to keep it simple and use grooves and a matching rabbet, though I considered drawer slips as well:

First I created the rabbet, using a saw to define the shoulder for the cross grain rabbet. I used a rabbet plane to quickly waste away the remaining material. For the rabbet that goes with the grain I just used the rabbet plane. And then for the grooves I used my 45 to create the grooves.

The video above shows one of the sides of the case hanging from the floor of the case. This is mostly a stunt but it lets me be confident that everything fits together right.

After that I decided to build the feet:
